Objects of Design #115: Zinc Storage Box

I love the idea of storage boxes. Sometimes for letters or postcards or jewellery. Or as keepsake places for the baby stuff that you want to store but don’t know where to put it. Both my children have boxes filled with the cards received when they were born, their first tiny socks and hats and other little treasures that remind us of that first year.

But you could also keep them on the dining room/kitchen table full of napkins and rings or rarely used accessories such as place names. As I sit here typing I can see a use for about a dozen of these and that’s just in my relatively tidy kitchen; pens, paperclips and desk stuff, son’s collection of lizard cards, the sewing kit (currently in a rather unattractive plastic box), stamps and postcards… the list goes on.
