Objects of Design #139: Jigsaw Coasters and Trivet

Now if I’m honest I’ve never really been one for a coaster. Possibly because we don’t really have the furniture to warrant it. But then recently, and perhaps it’s my age, I find that they are increasingly handy.

Perhaps it’s all the ice I’ve been putting into the wine, but a little mat does help with that. And when it comes to Friday night dinner and you’re trying to make an effort and put the food into serving dishes (rather than throwing it on to the plates straight from the pan) a trivet does come in handy for a hot dish of roast potatoes.

So I have found these. And their multipurposeness pleases me. As does the chunkiness of the wood. And, frankly, the price ain’t bad either.
