Objects of Design #182: Washbasins Reinterpreted

Washbasins. They really do come in all shapes and sizes you know. And, just in case you were in any doubt, here are some amazing interpretations for you to look at.

I should, of course, point out that most of them are in no way affordable, but today that’s not the point, this is about having a look at some of the things that are out there and imagining perhaps that one day…

The basin above was designed in homage to the Italian coffee cup. This one is called Wave. A wall-hung basin is a good idea in a small room as, by leaving the floor space free, it tricks the eye into thinking there is more space than there actually is.

The freestanding wire basin comes in either black or white.

This is called Miss White and creates a natural space for your feet.

And finally, La Fontana comes in yellow and black
