Objects Of Design #217: Glaoui Timbuctu Neutral Rug

warm textures in neutral colours

I said we would come onto rugs later but then I found this and I had to share it with you at once! Gorgeous shades of grey and all those different textures. Imagine running your toes through those pompoms at the end. It’s so completely modern and yet you can see the traditional elements which inspired the design.

First things first: it’s made in India and is “GoodWeave” certified which means that no child labour was involved and it’s 100 per cent wool. There are two sizes; the large one is 2m x 3m and the smaller 1.7m x 2.4m which is pretty big in its own right.

Designed by Sandra Figuerolo, it also comes in shades of blue and purple which is also pretty magnificent.
