Isn’t this a beauty? Sticking with the cosy theme from yesterday, this rather elegant ceramic lamp has a matt red velvet shade, which is an unusual choice and I think it really works.

if your interiors tend towards the monochrome or the plain then introducing a single wow factor can really make a huge difference and this lamp could be the piece you are looking for. You can buy the table to put it on from the same place.

The Chloe James Lifestyle store was launched in St Albans in 2010 by Donna Nichol and Maria Allen. Apparently Donna had always dreamt of owning a shop, Maria took a little bit of persuasion – in the form of coffee and cake. History doesn’t relate whether it was a red velvet cupcake but I’m going to pretend it was because that’s a better story.

The store is a mix of fashion, jewellery and furniture and if you’re in St Albans go for a browse. For the rest of us, there’s the web.
