Now if I hadn’t had to have something as utterly tedious as a door to get into my sitting room, this is the light I would have had instead. Unfortunately by the time the furniture was in there wasn’t an awful lot of wall space left.

I lobbied fairly hard to have one fitted in the hall, in the library, anywhere else I could think of, but unfortunately by this time my husband, sensing my somewhat hysterical desire for this light, had also googled the price. And the builder, sensing that all his plastering and wiring work was close to being ripped out in favour of a light that would need recessing into a wall, was also doing that hissing and headshaking thing.

And well, to cut a long story short, I bought a very nice pair of boots for about a quarter of the price instead. And we still have a door into the sitting room. Like I said, tedious but necessary. The price of the light you say? Erm … *coughs* £983.

But you can paint it to match the wall. Those of you who are familiar with this blog and who remember a post called The House of My Dreams will see why I like this light so much.

There is a small version too for about half the price, but it’s much less exciting.

Anyway, I have also found this. Which is in a similar vein. And very affordable. Only I would want to have three, at different heights. Still much cheaper though.
