Sometimes a stunning lampshade is the easiest, most effective (and cheapest) way to go. If you just want an easy solution, although beware – there is so much choice out there it may be overwhelming, or, perhaps more likely, you’ve spent the money on a new chair/table/pair of shoes and you just want something that will do the job, consider a lampshade.

I went for a little virtual stroll down notonthehighstreet.com the other day and there were so many fabulous lampshades that I had to turn this post into a Five Finds.

Mind you, I could easily have chosen 50. Here then, are my top five finds. And before you start jumping up and down, they are in no particular order.

And don’t forget what we were talking about the other day – if you’ve saved all that money on a shade the consider spending another tenner or so on a coloured flex which will really make the difference.

It’s also worth pointing out that several of these shades are customisable; the neon can be matched to your paint, while the woods silhouette can come with different wallpaper.
