It is just possible that this falls into the category of what to get the person who has everything but, on the other hand, I don’t (have everything) and I do rather want it.

the salt and pepper straw was inspired by a traditional drinking straw

I know you can’t use freshly ground black pepper in this but that doesn’t take away from its inventiveness and wit. It’s made by DesignK.

store in the drawer alongside the cutlery

Small enough to living in the cutlery drawer, or in a glass with the cutlery as shown above. It’s stocked by lifestylebazaar. I used to be a huge fan of their witty and well curated collection and then they closed for a redesign, which seemed to go on for months and months and gradually I stopped looking for them, but now they’re back and there are lots of great ideas for the home and for presents.

I also love this set of two wooden mats, wordlessly indicating whether it’s a morning for breakfast chat or morning silence. The box is called simply “Let’s Talk” and “Later”.

I might be adding these to my cart as well.
