Objects Of Design #344: Mayuri Bed Throw

The art to keeping cosy during the long winter months (and is it just me or do they seem to be getting longer every year?) is layering. Different layers in different textiles – think velvet, linen, cotton and fur. The other day we looked at a fur throw for those really bitter nights but here is a lighter cotton version which will see you through till Spring.

The pattern comes from an old Indian block press and was embroidered by hand in Jaipur, India onto the linen. The great thing about linen is that it improves with age so although it will fade, it will also soften.

Handmade in Jaipur
