Antique Silver Coffee Table

eichholtz silver drum side table

Oh I do love this silver side table. It would totally be the showstopping piece in the room and would look great contrasted with a velvet sofa (check) wooden floors and rugs or any colour (check) and lots of soft lighting (winning again) and, the latest trend, house plants (working on that one).

Now, in an ideal world, you would have picked up the genuine item in your travels around the Far East, tied it onto the the back of your rucksack and carried it halfway round the world before returning to your flat and giving it pride of place in every house you lived in ever after.

In reality, that’s all a bit tricky. Not least because any spare money when you are backpacking is more likely to be spent on food than furniture. Actually I say that, I spend nine months in Senegal many years ago and I did bring a chair back in my suitcase but I appreciate that’s not the norm.

So, given that the above scenario didn’t quite pan out like that, you’ll have to buy a new one. Here you are. Now it’s not cheap. Nothing from Eichholtz is but it IS fabulous and it’s like your wardrobe; you mix a great pair of shoes with a pair of Topshop jeans (Baxter are the ones) and you have a look that is individual and totally you.

There is also a green distressed version available but that one doesn’t work. It’s trying too hard to look like you just unstrapped it from the rucksack and couldn’t be bothered to wipe the dust off.

So it’s £1,100 from Sweetpea and Willow and it will look great with a couple of floor cushions if you’ve blown the entire budget on this and can’t afford a sofa.
