Kitchen Innovations from Magnet Part IV

unnamed-1

Well here it is the final piece in my collaboration with Magnet. There have been some good ideas which you can catch up with here  or, for those of you who can’t quite summon up the energy to click the link, there has been the folding step ladder which can be stored in the plinth or kickboard, the waste cabinet that sits directly under the counter making it easier to sweep rubbish from the top directly into the bin, and the hob with the rings in a straight line rather than the traditional square formation so that it frees up more usable space on your work top.

They’re all clever ideas which, if I ever redo my kitchen (pause for hollow laughter) I will definitely consider incorporating as they are all good for a) small spaces and, let’s be honest, it doesn’t matter how big your house is you pretty much always wish you had more space and b) making life easier and who doesn’t want some of that?

This final idea is more of the same. But, as we’ve just established, there ain’t nothing wrong with that. Yes it’s a pull out larder and we have all seen those before. Some of you probably even have one. I don’t *sob* but it’s slightly different from the usual narrow baskets that slide out.

This looks like a cupboard but half the shelves are on the door so they are easily accessible and the other half slide forward when you open the door making them, yes you’re so on it today, easily accessible.

In simple terms this means you don’t have to rummage around in the dark looking for the tin of tomatoes and coming up with 47 tins of lentils that you forgot you had because you couldn’t see to the back of the cupboard. Some of my cupboards are like this.

On the upside we could probably sit out quite a long siege and there would definitely be enough fibre in our diet.

And here, if you want to see more on how it works, is the final video.
