Objects of Design #310: Brass Vases

New year, still loving that brass though. Use these gorgeous pots for flowers, plants or, my personal favourite, just for putting all those bits and bobs that seem to accumulate on worktops and coffee tables and the like.

There’s no doubt that it’s handy to be able to grab a pen, or an elastic band. And if I put the tape measure away in the sewing box I shall only forget. And what about the dental floss, the lip salve and, oh god, the loose change that no-one ever wants to put back in their purse or wallet. The glasses case and the headphones for the iPod. The nail file and the spare shoe lace. Perhaps you all live beautifully organised lives where all these things have a place. I do not. Hence, these pots. And my worktop shall be a picture of uncluttered beauty. Of domestically detoxed purity. Tidy.
