I do love a big old industrial kitchen table and this one comes from my latest discovery Dig Haushizzle a veritable treasure trove of vintage and individual pieces that perfectly capture the current trends.
The shop was set up by Cassandra Linton and Edward Nicholas nearly two years ago and is based in Bristol. Classic entrepreneurs, they set up when they were furnishing their own home and couldn’t find what they wanted.
“We struggled to find the individual pieces we wanted as we had such little spare time to look,” they said. After failing to find enough items in the style they required, the couple gave in and bought some flat pack furniture.
“The flat pack shelves do the job and hold up our huge mass of books, but the other things were just not working. We replaced the coffee table with a lovely wooden letter press table which made us much happier. Getting a little carried away we started to buy a bit too much for our little flat.”
Cassie said there will be a new website by the end of the month and promised lots more pieces.
“Edd and I love what we do; we are constantly learning and are always looking to add more. We buy what we love and our tastes can evolve quite quickly so this means our store can be quite transformative.
“We use our store space as a kind of home from home which seems to work quite well as its definitely [a place] our customers want to spend their time in.
Having had the pleasure of doing a wedding shoot with Ed & Cass in there beautiful Dig Haushizzle shop in Bristol, I was like a kid in a candy store! – They have a truly amazing eye for some serious interior eye candy & both lovely too a must for any style junkie!
My kind of ethos. What a fantastic find !!
