Objects of Design #282: Hammam Towels

It’s at about this time of year that the guests start arriving. I know this because mine are coming tomorrow. First my mother, then, as she leaves, my mother in law arrives.

Now this will result in a fairly significant pile of laundry and all of it the big stuff – sheets, duvet covers, dressing gowns etc not forgetting the towels. And this is where hammam towels come in.

These are extraordinarily pretty. They’re fantastically absorbent and, while these ones are bigger than ordinary towels, they dry much more quickly because they’re thinner.

Which makes them practical as well as pretty. In fact they’d make pretty good presents too, wrapped in a bundle of three of varying different sizes.
