Given that it’s that time of year when thoughts turn to presents I might as well come right out and say that you could give me pretty much anything from Thornback and Peel and I would love it.

As I said a few weeks ago, I don’t tend to like animal designs too much (and then I feel head over heels for the wonderful H A M with its strong silhouettes) but I do rather love these.

I first came across their designs a few years ago when they produced the wonderful pigeon and jelly deckchair and the collection has now grown to include napkins, hankerchiefs, coasters, aprons and oven gloves.

I was going to say I’d have any of it except the oven gloves (the last man I knew that gave his wife an oven glove for Christmas ended up in the divorce courts) but then I look at this fabulous pink jelly ones and I think … no I’d take them too.

And I’ve never used cotton hankies either but I certainly have a few relatives who do so that’s that sorted then.

  1. I love their designs, I have seen a chair covered in the pudding design and would love that in my kitchen! I have a small stash of their hankies ready as Christmas stocking fillers too.
