Tis the season to buy mugs. Apparently. Suddenly I’m finding crockery I must have at every turn. Recently I showed you the wonderful black and white designs from H A M and now I’m thinking that these would look fantastic on the shelves next to those.

They’re from my latest discovery Unite and Type and you can customise everything with a choice of 14 fonts and six colours. I know! What choices. I’m thinking a bit of Avenir or American Typewriter in Charcoal.

It’s all made from Ivory bone china, lined with 22 carat gold and made in Stoke on Trent. You don’t have to have the gold of course. A plain mug costs under £20 and for £35 you can have the bling. Obviously I am going for gold.

Now they do make great presents and I can only apologise that I discovered this company too late for Christmas this year – the personalisation takes 21 days.Although, having said that, I think a gold lined mug is adornment enough and that would come straight away. Otherwise you better bookmark this page and remember it for birthdays. I know I shall.
