A Portable Kitchen

Believe it or not this is a kitchen. A portable, micro kitchen to be exact. Design for offices and small spaces where there might not be room for the more conventional type. The idea is that you can move them to where you need and put them away afterwards.

Each cupboard will take either a microwave or a coffee machine and there are drawers for plates, mugs and cutlery etc. The designers at aotta.com have thought about it properly so there are cup hooks for the coffee machine/kettle cupboard and plate shelves in the others. There’s also a single burner hotplate so between that and the microwave you could knock up quite a decent meal.

They do look quite toy-like, which I’m not entirely sure is a good thing although it does bring a fun element into it. It’s currently only a prototype and the designers have said that when they find a production partner, you will be able to modify the design according to your needs.

I think it’s a really interesting idea and feels like a logical step as we become more pressed for space and need to use our rooms more efficiently.

  1. It looks almost birdlike, I wonder if that’s intentional. Does it have a brand/concept name yet?
