The Interiors Sample Sale

Well and isn’t it just about time too. We’ve all seen the invites to secret sales and fashion outlet sample sales where, contrary to my first thought, you can buy clothes, not just in sample sizes but in all sizes that are end of line, end of season, anything thing that the designer wants to get rid of basically. And as most of us don’t really pay attention to what season our clothes came from in the first place, it’s a good way of getting expensive togs for a discount.

Finally, the interiors world has caught up and the first ever Sample Sale for high end furniture will held between 4 and 6 March at Victoria House B1, Bloomsbury Square London, WC1B 4DA. You will be able to buy heavily discounted pieces across the three days with a selection of daily star buys added each day which will be sold on a first come first serve basis.

Now I’m telling you this well in advance so you’ve got time to make plans because I think the discounts are going to be pretty good. Brands taking part include Tom Dixon (out of my way I’m first), Moroso, Ligne Roset and Very Good and Proper.

Ligne Roset will be taking 30 per cent off its Facet Chair reducing it from £2,077 to £1,449 and the Togo Fireside will come down from £1,119 to £779. Or look out a Case Furniture dining table reduced by 50 per cent to £650. Anglepoise will also be there offering significant discounts, as well as Moroso, Vitamin, Decode and Another Country.

Tickets cost £5 in advance or £8 on the door and the sale has been curated by the DesignJunction team. Even if you don’t have a lot of spare money, there should be something for everyone – Tom Dixon’s tea light holders will be going for a tenner. They were originally £35 so even with the price of the ticket you’re still winning.

So if you’re interested in going get your tickets here and I’ll see you in the queue. I’ll be the one with the sharp elbows.

  1. A samples sale for interior design and luxury homeware products is such a great idea. As you quite rightly say there have been sample sales for years in the fashion world that have worked very well. However the main problem is how to get your furniture and lighting bargains home particularly if you live out of town?
