Mad About The House has collaborated with leading interiors brands to produce engaging content, style shop windows and room sets, and feature products in the Mad House.
When it comes to collaborations I choose carefully which brands I want to work with and, in many cases, such as Alternative Flooring and Farrow & Ball, have been a paying customer long before we worked together. I have never run banner or click advertising on blog and nor do I have any affiliate links.
Instead, I have always preferred to work out a longer term collaborative process lasting several months and including at least one (often more) blog posts and instagram coverage. That has always felt more worthwhile both in terms of brand coverage but also for readers who can learn more about a brand’s ethos and history and not just their latest products – although, of course, that is part of it too.
I post three times a week with a sponsored post. on Wednesdays if there is one. That way you, the reader, know exactly what you are getting and what is paid for content.
As for the brands I choose to work with you can see from the list below, the kinds of companies that I have partnered with over the last eight years. I am always interested in creating new and different content and I am rarely interested in doing the same as everyone else.
I tend not to accept freebies unless I can genuinely use them in my own home and feel that they would fit in authentically to The Mad House. If you send me products I will write about them if I am truly interested but I won’t just show them on instagram stories because you sent them. There is far too much of that going on already and I find it uncomfortable viewing. If I am to feature a product it is because I genuinely feel that it is different or interesting or fills a gap. Or is just too beautiful for me to ignore.
