Objects of Design #307: Round Noticeboard

Well I do hope you’re feeling better this morning. Many of you will be back at work and those of us who work from home may also be staggering to the office/study/spareroom/kitchen table for the first time in a couple of weeks.

So it made sense to tackle the home office today. Now, I don’t know about you but there’s never enough space on my desk for all the bits of paper I seem to have floating about and so there comes a point when you need to use the walls as storage.

Many notice boards are a bit twee and flowery which isn’t for me. But then I found these. Made from felt so you can pin things to them (often more reliable than magnets which get overloaded and things fall down) and in a fabulous charcoal colour. This one measures 57cm in diameter, which is a really good size. Now, given the price (£115) you are unlikely to buy three as they have styled the image above, but you could investigate a little DIY version if you needed more than one.

This fixes on the wall with picture hanging strips, which are included in the price, so it’s really easy to get going with your desk declutter as you can have it on the wall in seconds.

I think I would have one felt one to pin things to, one blackboard circle painted to write things on and one other – perhaps painted in whiteboard paint with a painted frame to complete the look.

Right, that’s the office sorted then. Is it time for a sit down and a cup of coffee?
