Objects Of Design #261: Tetris Light

Play in 3D

This is just brilliant. It is, you can’t argue. For anyone who loves that addictive game Tetris, it now comes in the form of a light and doubles up as a game you can play in 3D. The blue has to go along the bottom as it has the plug socket and then you just pile them up as you please. Magically as each piece is connected, it lights up.

Obviously it’s an atmospheric rather than a task light, but perhaps it will be the new generation lava lamp which delighted so many of us back in the 70s. So I’m told. I am clearly too young to remember (varifocal lenses notwithstanding).

can you make a rectangle again?

The other challenge is that once you have taken it out of the box you will never get it back in again as making it back into its original rectangle shape is nigh on impossible.

this won’t go back in the box
