Milk Stools 2 is a collection of three stools inspired by the humble milking stool and embellished in a beautiful way. I particularly like the addition of one brass leg.

But, in addition to that, underneath each seat, Thomas has inlaid some brass cows and milk bottles in homage to the original purpose of the stool.

It may not entirely surprise you to know that series 2 followed series one, below.

Ellen Thomas is a furniture, product and interior accessories designer based in Newcastle Upon Tyne producing designs for manufacture, license and commissions.

Concerned with our disposable attitudes to furniture and products, the milk series was about creating furniture that embodies longevity. Using one of the oldest designs we know and adding a contemporary twist by means of traditional techniques, she has come up with these stools.

Do visit her site Ellen Thomas to see her other creations. You can buy the stools from The Form Emporium
