Morning! Before I start this post can I say that I am aware that some of you have been having issues seeing the pictures on your subscriber email on your phones. I have spoken to my web designer who says that it would appear to be a problem with the mechanism at the provider’s end not at mine. He suggests we see if they come up with a fix in the next couple of days and if they don’t then we will investigate another way of sending these emails out to you. I appreciate it must be frustrating and I hope you will bear with me while we try and work this out. In the meantime you can see everything if you come direct to the blog. I will keep you all posted.
Now, houses – below…. and if you can’t see the image of this front door it’s probably worth a trip to the site cos it’s a good’un….
How often do you find a house with a skeleton over the front door a few days before Halloween ? It’s the perfect house for the time of year so I had to show it to you even though it’s a little different from our usual haunts (haha). It’s got quite a spooky (I’ll stop now) price tag too at £3,450,000 for one/two bedrooms. It’s on the market with Rokstone (via Zoopla) and Domus Nova and it’s worth a little tour.
When I first spotted it – via another agency who had clearly made the owner take the skeleton down for the pictures – I was going to talk about painted windows but instead I’ve come over all Adamm’s family.
It’s either got one bedroom and two receptions or two bedrooms depending on your point of view. The other thing that caught my eye was the two chaise longue in Neisha Crosland Hollywood Grape fabric. I’m currently craving this wallpaper in our bedroom. As the purple wall in the bathroom has gone so must the purple wallpaper next door. Oh we are ruthless in The Mad House.
What do you think? A Mad Flat for The Mad House a few days before Halloween…
Fancy it? All right here’s another one. Might be a bit more up your streets…. It’s on the market via The Modern House for £1,200,000 and it’s a former electricity station that has been converted into a four bedroom house with around 3,700 sq ft of internal space.
I love that they have kept all the beams and workings exposed to show the heritage of the building and add interest to the spaces. They also work as natural dividers in such a large open plan space.
Although I’m slightly spooked by the rope (still on the Halloween theme). I assume it’s for pulling those cogs too and fro but I think if it were my house I might have fixed a seat on the end and made it into a swing.
Elsewhere though, look at those gorgeous strong colours of burgundy and deep teal velvet which bring a very luxurious feel to this industrial space. If you want to leave your beams exposed you have to use special fireproof paint by the way.
Finally, look at that gorgeous kitchen with those fabulous high ceilings and all that space. I love those doors at the end don’t you?
So there you have it – two, mildly spooky, houses for Halloween or, to return to a more common theme – town or country – which one will you choose this week?
First house, please. Sure, it might seem the skeleton above the fireplace took a hike (to the nearest closet?), but how ’bout to the greenish skeleton rug. I am obsessing over it.
PS: happy Halloween, Kate!
Oh my, the first one please! So lush without being overbearingly heavy… it’s a real beauty! (but, owch – the price)
Kate…
Paul here in America…yes …there still is one….lol
Anyway…love your blog…..but….the past week …NONE of your pics have been coming through…only text…
Thank you,
Paul

Hi Paul, thank you for reading. Yes I think there is an issue and it seems that several wordpress users have been having the same problem with their jetpack subscription service. We were waiting to see if Jetpack was going to resolve the situation but nothing seems to have happened so we are going to start working on a solution this weekend. I can only apologise and thank you for your patience. All of you!
I always scroll through emails in the morning on my iPad whilst eating breakfast and just this week your posts have also stopped loading any photos, including today. In order to see them I have to remember to go back to your email notification and have a look on the Mac when I sit down to do some work. Hope you manage to sort it out because I just love your posts, usually my favourite each morning!
Thank you so much for coming back! I hope we can sort it too, as I said to another reader on this thread it appears to be a hosting issue so I’m not sure what I can do but hoping that my web designer will have some ideas.
