Wall Lights and Marble Tables

club chairs from french connection
club chair £495

I only meant to show you one image for today’s post. There was only meant to be one object of design. But then I couldn’t choose which one. For gathered within these five images are all elements that I would be very happy to use in the loft.

french connection bar stools
T -back bar stool £150 (low version)

Everything is from French Connection, some of them are on sale now, and some of them, not just because they are photographed in a loft-style space, are perfect for what I would like. And, obviously the idea of buying everything from one place goes against every rule I’ve ever taught you. Except, hmm, it was my rule and they’re made to be broken…

wall light french connection
swoosh wall light £145

Take that top picture (I’ll pause while you scroll back up…) see? Those chairs? I’d really like a pair of those. Mind you, I’d happily house them in the sitting room too. In the next picture, I’d like the lower stool. We plan to build a desk running all along one wall and that stool would be perfect for an occasional sitter. It would double up as a bedside table. I don’t usually like backs on stools but for some reason this one appeals.

leather chair from french connection home
poppyfield rug £155

Moving down, that wall light. That is all. One at either end of the desk. I like the detail of the handle to wind the table up and down but I’d only want that if it was vintage not reproduction so that one can stay in the shop.

In the image above I want that rug. Pink, grey and vintage-looking. I’m not thinking outside any of my own boxes here am I but it IS a great collection. I might take that leather sling back chair too although I’d like to see it up close and personal first to cast a beady eye on the leather.

marble and steel table from french connection
marble and steel table £385

Next up, this marble coffee table with steel legs. Yes please. That is perfect urban glamour – high end marble mixed with industrial steel. Classic Mad About The House style. And the bill for this little extravaganza? Do you really want to know? Yes, I know you do. It’s *gulps* £1,330. But then you get this:

french connection home.001

Which I could live with quite happily… What do you think? Obviously, before the smarter ones among you pipe up, that price is for one chair only. And one light… Ooh is that the time? I must dash…

Here’s another version with the leather chair so that it’s not too matching…

  1. love the raw look of this house!
Can you tell me from which brand are the floor lighting pieces? Are they from Delightfull?

  2. I’ve been admiring their safari chair and brass floor lamp for some time but I don’t think FC’s Home products are available in Ireland. Do you know if they plan to come across ? Love your blog ! (hope you’re enjoying working in your fabulous loft)

  3. I have to say i’ve been onto their website several times and even got to the stage where i’ve ‘popped’ several bits in the basket…..but have resisted thinking ‘you don’t ‘need’ these bits even as lovely as they are. Not sure how many times i will be able to resist not properly checkout as their stuff is just getting better and better isn’t it!
