Coloured Tufted Rug

I am haunted by this rug. HAUNTED I tell you. You know I’m not really one for too much colour. I’m funny about blue, irritated by yellow and only really like olive when it comes to green. And yet… and yet… every time I see this rug I just want to gaze at it. I think perhaps I even want it. Like, actually in my house.

It’s from those lovely chaps A Rum Fellow and was designed by them for Floor Story, who work with some brilliant designers to produce fantastic and unusual rugs. Kaya is 100 per cent wool and is tufted and carved by hand in India which means no two pieces are ever the same. It comes in two sizes of which the smaller, 180cm x 120cm is £800 and the larger (160cm x 230cm) is an extra £550. But you can talk to them about custom sizes if you need something different.

They also came up with Coban, which is this beautiful blue and white rug above. I love that the pile has been carved into different heights. It makes this a really interesting and unusual piece. Prices start at £350 for this one.

Wandering around Floor Story I also found this black and white beauty by Darkroom. Don’t you just love those tassels on the corner. This one comes in lots of sizes and costs between £350 up to £950 for the largest one.

If you need a rug then have a look here. Their tagline is: “If we don’t stock it, we’ll source it. If we can’t source it, we’ll make it.” That’s the kind of tagline I can do business with, see what you think.

  1. Love the blue and white one! I’m equally only one for muted hues when it comes to colour. There is an exceptional love about this though that reminds me of the absolutely stunning, vibrant interiors of Morocco….

  2. Absolutely love the colourful one its just got something – thanks I think I might be HAUNTED now too ! ?

  3. brilliant rugs, I’ve been searching for one to hand on the hall wall – to deaden sound of the hoard for my neighbours. Have until now thought white shaggy, twinkly Morrocan, but now I’m not so sure!

  4. Thank you for posting these rugs- totally smitten!!! And I would never have found them without your posting!!!
