Object Of Design #202: PS 2012 Bench with Storage

Stack ’em up

For many years I have nurtured a fantasy for a row of vintage wooden cinema seats in my hall – perfect for storing shoes underneath and sitting on to put on said shoes. Sadly, I have neither the space not the available funds to fulfil this particular fantasy but this comes in a close second. These benches can stack vertically to provide shelves and storage or place them horizontally as a row of little seats with the shoes underneath. They come in blue, red or black, but let’s be honest, as they’re made from pine you can paint them any colour you want – sky blue pink with spots on as the saying used to go.

Stack me, paint me anyway you want me

  1. i would like to buy some more of the units no. PS 2012 that were sold in IKEA.
they are perfect for our drink stations at my nursery, we have some indoors and would like more for outside bur ikea no longer stock them. do you have any in stock?

  2. my brother bought a row of 5 antique cinema seats for the tv room. They look fantastic, but none in the family likes to use them -the sloppy sofas are so much more comfortable. My son on the other hand acquired a couple of large comfy modern cinema seats (they were samples for the Imax) – they are ugly as sin take up his entire studenty flat, and are used all the time – the cup holder is perfect for a beer can!! Hey ho…
