Objects of Design #172: Brood Mirrors from Loaf

A mirror is just a mirror you might think, but the cliche says that the devil is in the detail that’s certainly true of these Brood mirrors from Loaf.

They’re made from hand-welded metal with a vintage finish but it’s the handle that I really like, especially the single one on the portrait version.

According to the company, the mirrors were inspired by a visit to the designer Paul Smith’s Notting Hill shop. Hang them in a cluster as they have here, although, if I might stick my oar in, I would put them slightly closer together and make a tight group of as many as you can fit onto the relevant bit of wall.

They cost £125, which may mean you are only buying one at a time, but let’s face it, that bit of wall probably isn’t going anywhere so you can add to it over time.
