The best 10 Rooms of April featuring that insanely clever wardrobe hack by Fiona Cameron:

Sometimes I start this weekly hunt for 10 Beautiful Rooms wondering how on earth I am going to find that many that fit with my mood, that hang loosely together and which I think you will like. Then, somehow, it comes together and I have to say I rather like this week’s collection and I hope you will too.

First up is this kitchen by Devol painted in their new black Printers Ink. You can also buy the chairs which were made by various members of staff after they sat in moulds to create the perfect bum shape. I have sat in one and I can tell you they are beyond comfortable. This people is the perfect kitchen stool you want.

But although my kitchen has black cupboards and it’s a colour that is increasing in popularity not everyone wants to be that dramatic. What, then about the green and brass option. You’ve probably seen this one before from another angle. I never get tired of looking at it. I particularly like the round finger holes instead of handles.

But before we leave kitchens here’s another green one by Neptune. Green painted bricks who’da thought it?

And because, why not it’s back to black for this open plan kitchen, dining, living space in Sweden. Look at that ceiling…

Leaving kitchens but returning to green is this restaurant Il Pampero in London. There is a lot of green around this year but, interestingly none of it is of the yellowy green shade declared by Pantone as the colour of the year. Instead it’s about dark emeralds and soft olives – as in the kitchen above. Basically any shade of green as long as it’s not greenery – to paraphrase Henry Ford.

And while we’re looking at emerald green what about Bronte, the new-ish restaurant designed by Tom Dixon. This is the pink and green combination which you all loved from Devol a few weeks ago.

Moving away from restaurants now but keeping the blush pink and adding in black, this is from the very beautiful account of Lily & Oscar, who runs an interior design platform which is currently down for a redesign but will be back next month. Might be one to bookmark if these pictures are anything to go by.

Sticking with pink and we come to this gorgeous velvet couch by Lene Bjerre. This room is so simple with its white walls and white light and then the pink sofa really stands out.

Or perhaps you prefer things little more moody. This is the home of the wonderful Jeska Herne whose shop The Future Kept has featured on these pages before. Her lifestyle photography for the store is stunning and here is a shot of her home.

Finally I’m showing you this wonderful Ikea wardrobe hack by ace blogger Fiona Cameron of Around The Houses who explains exactly how she did it on the blog. I can’t stop looking at it I think it’s so clever and so beautiful. I don’t have a wall of wardrobes but if I did I would be totally following her instructions to make them look like this.

What do you think. I assume you’re all out lying in the spring sun and drinking ice coffees and chilled rosé (delete according to the time of day) but if you have dropped in for a look I hope you will like this week’s edition.

    Hi Kate!
That green kitchen is beyond gorgeous! How are those bricks painted?? Do you need special paint or do you need to treat the bricks first?

Gorgeous kitchens. Every time I see black cupboards I wish I hadn’t played it so safe (though I do still love pale grey).
