This falls into the category of one of those lights that I shall never own but will always secretly want. I shall never own it because HO (him outdoors) is somewhat bird phobic and would collapse in horror every time he saw it.
But despite that, it still amuses me and, as I’ve said before, I think one should always try and introduce a little humour into one’s home decor. It costs £68 and comes in a whole range of colours, including yellow and orange.
I like the grey one because of the bright orange flex and I also think it would look great against the dark grey walls of my sitting room. There was a limited edition gold one which was fabulous, but I’m not sure it’s still available. If you find one snap it up, this light has basically qualified as a design classic.
A final point, it comes with a wooden perch on which to stand, but do be aware that as it fits flush against the wall, it is, in fact, a half a pigeon and not a fully rounded sculpture.
With regards to HO, you should do what I did last year when I bought the yellow version… it was a Christmas present to myself- so no discussion necessary! You are right about adding a bit of humour into your decor. Even if it isn’t to everyone’s taste, it certainly is a talking point!
Loving your posts!
Love it – that pigeon is great –
We have been trying to get the right grey on our furniture – please check it out – we used to manufacture for John Lewis and have now gone solo.
