Objects Of Design #32: Ribbon Coat Rack

A new month and a new series for 365 Objects of Design. This month we’ll be looking at those all important finishing touches that help turn a house into a home. No, they’re not essential by their very nature but they will add personality to your space and should always be things that you love or have collected during your travels through life.

So we might as well start at the beginning with the first place you come too – the hall. First things first; there has to be a bit of discipline. Unless you live in some massive castle there probably isn’t room for every member of the family to have every coat they possess in the hall at the same time.

This rack, designed to look like a piece of ribbon caught in a breeze will take five coats as well as scarves and umbrellas. They’re handmade so no two are the same and if you do need to hang more then two in a line would look great.
