This week’s Five Finds is a mixed bunch, but then that’s how it works best I think. It’s a smorgasbord of delights, a table of tapas and and (that’s enough, Ed). Anyway, ahem, take a look. We’ve got everything from flooring to furniture with accessories to go with them.
First up from Loaf, the Thelma Dressing Table. The stool is called Louise (naturally. And if you don’t know why then you’re not old enough to have a dressing table).
Made from sustainable sourced oak with a weathered finished the top lifts up to reveal the mirror.
Which in turns leaves a handy space for storing your bits and bobs. Or valuables if you have any. It costs £475, which is really not at all bad for a piece like this and, of course, as the mirror folds down it can be used in any room in the house as a table.
Next up are these ceramic flower pots from Danish design duo Meyer Lavigne, which are new to Liberty this season.
Pictured (L-R) is Frede and Esmaralda but the set also includes Lotte, Alfonso and Henrietta.
The small pot, which measures 15cm high is £49.95 and the larger one (18cm) is £64.95.
Moving on to Bodie and Fou, who have just started stocking rugs from The House Doctor. They have the two left hand ones from the picture below and they cost £95 and measure 90cm by 200cm. Perfect as a hall runner or along the front of a sofa.
Now I don’t know about you, but I am beginning to think about a new sofa. This is something that I will probably think about for another couple of years but in the meantime, this new Salone two-seater from Content by Conran has rather caught my eye.
This looks so comfortable doesn’t it. This is the two-seater, pictured but it also comes in a three and a four seater too and you can choose everything from the fabric to the colour of the legs. Prices start at £1,595.
Finally, I’m going back to bed. Well, I am if the weather continues like this. Someone said to me the other day that we haven’t had a good summer in the UK since 2007, which, by my reckoning was when the recession started. Which means that the weather is in recession too. A double-dip. So, bed linen. If I am going to spend the “summer” (HA!) hibernating then I will do it in washed lace bedlinen from Toast.
And don’t forget, that while it might seem expensive (frankly what from Toast doesn’t?) if you apply the old cost per wear adage to it (which we all do to justify the outrageous pair of shoes or buttery soft leather jacket) then, if you’re spending the next three months in bed, it will probably turn out to be very good value for money!
