Leather Shelves

I just adore the combination of wood and leather and when I found these shelves last week it was instant love. Now they’re made by an Australian firm Lightly, but they do ship all over the world (for free if you spend over AUS $200). I tried to find something similar in the UK but failed so we’re embracing our Antipodean cousins today.

They’re sold as a set of straps with plywood shelves that allows you to set them up as you please. I have to say it’s partly the combination of pale nude leather and plywood that appeals to me most, but you might like the version below.

Lightly was set up in 2005 by Cindy-Lee Davies who named the company after her grandmother Rosemary Estelle Lightly. She now sells more than 100 products mixing traditional craft with cutting edge technology in what she called Nanna Technology and including her own Assemblages range.

This belt is sold separately from the plywood side table (which can be custom made for around £200) but given that the company is in Australia, you might want to have the belts and use them in your own project. They’re about £65 each and can also be used to wrap a stack of books, or perhaps for magazine storage as we saw last week.

  1. Hi there! 🙂

I’ve seen your shelving and am extremely interested to bring it into my new studio.

I was wondering if it is possible to order two single leather shelving in black (I’m using marble Formica as the bench itself) and a double also in black?

I’m hoping to have doors open on the salon in the next 2 weeks but I’m happy to use an interim bench if I can order your shelving 🙂

Look forward to speaking with you soon
