I don’t think we could have a series on children’s rooms without including the wonderful Isak Design. Some of them, like the penguins above, will be familiar to many of you, but there are lots of other wonderful images in the collection.
The colourful images are perfect for one wall of a playroom or bedroom and each one comes with a charming story, which you can read on the website.
Isak was developed by Swedish designer Sandra Isaksson, who, according to her website, was raised by a family of trolls in the heart of a Swedish forest, where she sculpted clouds and painted rainbows, carved with wind and whittled snowflakes from skybears. Restless she travelled the world in search for inspiration and eventually found it in a small English town.
Otherwise, it’s a beautifully graphic-based label with a nod to the 50s and 60s about it. In addition to the wallpapers and textiles, there is kitchenware, including cups and plates, and prints.
I am also particularly fond of Blossom and Bill, who cavort, naked and Swedishly, over a range of plates, mugs and trays. Actually I have just checked that. Blossom and Bill are quite restrained. Inger and Olle on the other hand …
