Objects of Design #278: Guineafowl Feather Cushion

Isn’t this cushion gorgeous? It’s by Celia Lewis who creates beautiful paintings and the odd cushion. Her website says she has lived all her life in Surrey, has three daughters and five grandchildren and most of her subject matter comes from her garden where she keeps chickens, turkeys and the occasional Gloucester Old Spot pig.

Continuing yesterday’s theme of seating, this cushion will be perfect on that charcoal velvet chair. Mind you, the monochrome design on a linen background will go with just about anything. It costs £45, including a feather inner and a shell button on the back.

By the way, feathers are about to become huge in interiors so this might be a good place to start. I featured Imogen Heath’s starling cushion a few days ago.

Bloomingville have also done a black and white feather cushion.
