Objects Of Design #334: Conran Irvin Storage Mirror

Conran Irvin Storage Mirror for M&S: why did no-one think of this before?

This is one of those objects that seems so obvious it’s a wonder that no-one has thought of it before. Or, if they have as I’m sure you will point out to me below, why don’t we all have one?

I know there isn’t always room for a freestanding mirror, but then there’s all the more reason to make it work harder to earn its place. This full length version, has shelves at the side and a hook, making it perfect for the hall or a bedroom, where it could almost double up as a dressing table.

In fact, as I have never had a dressing table, I now find that I am weirdly incapable of sitting down to put my make up on these days. Well that, and the fact that without my glasses, I need to be so close to the mirror that a chair and table makes me too far away to do anything anyway.

It would also work in a bathroom, which is a place where there never seems to be enough shelving either. Anyway, you don’t need me to tell you where to put it, it’s just my job to find these things for you.

£329 but at the time of writing it’s on sale
