Mad About . . . Industrial Chic

bloomingville.dk

The genteel Shabby Chic look that has been so popular in recent years has been rolled up in its faded floral bedspread and shoved into its pretty white painted cupboard by its brash young cousin Industrial Chic. Gone are those blowsy cabbage roses and delicately painted furniture and in its place is a harder, edgier look that owes its origins to items that have been reclaimed from old factories. Industrial light fittings mixed with vintage wooden chairs, old school tables with ink splatters. This time round you don’t have to paint over the imperfections. This time round it’s ok to have them in their raw state and if there’s a bit of rust then so much the better.

Here are some ideas to get you started and remember; the chalky white paint is just for the walls.
