Five Finds

Some real treats for you this week, I hope you will like them as much as I do.

First up, Christian Lacroix (yes that’s Lacroix Sweetie) has designed some fabric for Sofa Workshop. It’s called Butterfly Parade and it comes in four colourways, including this rather fabulous Lagoon. It costs around £85 a metre. This is Sofa Workshop’s Grande Dame Sofa if you wanted the same thing.

Next, the wonderful Johnny Egg has created these fabulous flocked cartoon signs which would look great on my landing wall. You can ask for any word you want but for for the ones shown below prices start at £175.

and that!

Now we come to some rather lovely lights from Holloways of Ludlow which will be previewed at Clerkenwell Design Week in May in the Farmiloe Building. It costs a rather eye-watering £998 but it will be the showstopping piece in the room. Remember – think of pendant lights as earrings for the home – they can really make an outfit, as it were.

Moving on to number four, and I should add that these are no way in order of preference by the way we come to this rather fabulous trompe l’oeil wallpaper from Pretty Dandy.

Regular readers will know I love these natural looking wallcoverings from an earlier post on exposed brick walls and when Becky showed me these concrete and marble wallpapers, I knew they had to be included here. See what you think.

3-large
or perhaps you would prefer marble?

And finally, bathroom shelves. But, to paraphrase that infamous advertisement; these are not just bathroom shelves, these are Vipp bathroom shelves. Minimal, sleek and just beautiful they have an invisible mounting and a washable silicon mat to prevent delicate items from slipping. Available in a larger and in either black or white, the smaller one costs £150 from Panik-Design

    1. It’s lovely isn’t it? I don’t know, but it looks a bit Ferm Living to me, I’m sure you could get something similar there anyway.

  1. Does anyone know where I can get a round mirror like the one shown on todays post of a marble wall by pretty dandy ?

    1. Hi Sue, it looks like the Gubi Adnet Circulaire which you can buy from Nest from £475 for 45cm diameter. It’s a bit of a design classic and totally stunning isn’t it. It was designed by Jacques Adnet who formed a partnership with the French fashion house, Hermes, in the 1950s, where he developed a collection of leather-covered furniture and interior accessories, including this round leather mirror with brass buckle details. I just love it.

      1. Kate – Thank you so much for your response to the mirror query ! We are interior designers in Yorkshire and find your posts so interesting each day ! – keep up the good work and thank you again !
