Objects Of Design #93: Nimbus Shelf

Did this idea come from blue-sky thinking?

Another month, another series in the epic 365 Objects of Design. This month we’ll be looking at storage. Books and media, coat racks and magazine racks,  shelves and trolleys. We can’t promise to include everything but by the end of the month, you should have a solution to storing almost anything you ever wanted to put away.

So, rash promises delivered, it’s on with the goods. And first out of the box is this unusual shelf from ibride. Great for a bathroom, as styled here, it can also hold 50 paperbacks as well as 70 DVD and CD pockets.

This is one of a number of products from French team iBride, whose name is a play on the word “hybrid” as many of their pieces combine form and function. They created the shelves that look like giant bears and the hall consoles that resemble the legs of an ostrich. You want a bit of wit in your interiors? This is where you need to start.
